TESTIMONIALS

Corporate Events…

"I have know John G from around 2007 or so when he came recommended from another industry colleague. I have since booked John for several welcome receptions/private dinners in various locations around Vancouver & Whistler.

John is quick with his responses and punctual on site especially with some complex load-in areas like the Roundhouse in Whistler etc. He is easy to work with and very professional with clients and the guests. I love his calm approach and his music is definitely soothing and entertaining.

I have also worked with John & Rossi as a duo, they definitely compliment each other and provide a great atmosphere for an intimate group. He can also kick it up a notch when required which is a special talent. John is my first go-to for any event that requires background music."

I wanted to drop you a note to thank you for your wonderful music during our event at the Museum of Anthropology. You and your music set exactly the tone and atmosphere we were looking for, and really was a natural extension of the event itself. We received incredibly positive comments from our guests… but the guests really said it all with their spontaneous applause after each of your sets. I have to tell you that these guests were the Chief Executive Officers comprising the “inner circle” of the world’s top airlines. They have been everywhere around the world, and have seen/heard the best, and for them to be so impressed with your music speaks volumes about what you do.

There is no question who we will call if we ever have the opportunity to host a similar type function or event. Thank you again John.

From our earliest days the West Fine Art Show has presented John Gilliat on guitar.

Art show guests are always enthralled and artists adore him.

John’s Flamenco Jazz and Latin Rumba blend passionately and soothingly into the broad canvas of our showscape and as a result he has truly become one of our most popular featured artists.

As many great artists do, John has reached that point where it is his time to give back to others and his new “Welcome to my Personal Guitar School” opens the door to all who wish to walk along his musical and artistic path.

If you think you would like to be a musical artist and play the guitar,…then John Gilliat is the artist to teach you.

I just wanted to let you know John did a great job during our reception at the Four Seasons.  He’s fantastic.  I wish I could afford to fly him to New York next year!

Thanks for making all of the arrangements and working with my last minute change!

Thank you for your wonderful performance at the Capilano Suspension Bridge this evening. Your performance was just the right way to set the mood for the event, a performance I’m sure guests will remember for years to come.

I look forward to working with you in the future.

Weddings…

"John provided elegant flamenco styled guitar music for my wedding reception. It added something unique and special to our wedding day and helped create a very classy atmosphere. He was professional, and provided all his own equipment. I had many guests compliment on how amazing John's skills are! I would highly recommend him to anyone of my friends! "

Private Parties…

I just wanted to drop you a line to thank you for the excellent job you did for us during the Karel Gott reception at the Wall Centre Hotel on May 16.

The feedback I got from all who commented, and there were many, was positive and enthusiastic. The guest of honour said it was perfect for the occasion and the very accomplished musicians in his band were very impressed, as well.

My only regret is that, as busy as I was with organizing everything, I did not have more time to just hang back and listen. But what I did hear, sounded wonderful. And thanks so much for helping set up the sound gear for us.

I sure hope that I have a future opportunity to hear you play and/or recommend you to someone in need of musical entertainment.

Guitar Instruction… Go to YourGuitarSchool.com

Hi!

So how is everything? This is Chelsea. I took guitar with you a few years back and lived just down the block, and I was Jen’s friend when she lived there. Anyways, after lessons I kept practicing and eventually (after a LONG TIME) improved and I was hired for a new job in December. Well, first of all I auditioned for the new dinner theater in Fort McMurray where I now live and made it! I’m so glad too, I love it. Doesn’t even feel like work most of the time. But for the next show, there are only two female roles and I was given understudy. However we’re playing all live music for the next show (we didn’t have time for the first show to put that all together) and my boss called me one day and asked if I wanted to stay and work every night as guitarist and create a minor role to work into the show!

Crazy eh? So this is a little thank you e-mail because you just earned me a steady job for the next three months and now I get to learn how to play all these awesome Beatles songs! (Including at the beginning of the show I play Hard days Night, including the solo! and also the last song, Twist and Shout where I’m lead vocals and guitar). But during the last few weeks of rehearsal there are so many things my director (who is helping me do all this because I’m still not very good at guitar) says that I am just like “Oh yeah! John taught me to do that in this song” so thank you!!!!

Hope everything is going well!
