The Creation of
Onishi - The Beyond Boundaries Cd... One of
the most memorable performances of my life was my first
time performing overseas in Japan. The performance was
outside in Fujiyama Koen park located in small town
called "Onishi" at the north-west end of Shikoku
Island.
It was a beautiful summer night at the end of July.
I was to play a half hour set just as the sun was setting
behind me. I still remember the wonderful warm breeze,
the fantastic smells and the increadible sounds that
surrounded me. I was seated on a round stage surrounded
by water with the audience infront of me swaying back
and fourth with green glow sticks held high in the air
moving to the music as I played.
I wanted to create a new song to capture that wonderful
evening in the Park. During the intro if you listen
closely you will hear the sound of the small stream
that flows to fill the water way that surrounded the
stage. Also you will hear the sounds of the large Japanese
crickets that surround you as the audience settled quietly
to hear my guitar. I begin playing solo as I did that
evening with the rest of my group joining me in the
song I call "Onishi"
