The Creation
of Latin Roads - Freedom Cd... This song
is very special as it was my very first rumba flamenco
song I created. I had purchased a roland keyboard
called a W30. It was very cool for it's time. The
keyboard was a stand alone mini digital recording
studio that allowed me the freedom to write, experimenting
with strings and percussion.
I used the W30 to create
a very interesting and haunting string pad and played
a basic rumba flamenco chord rythym with it. From
there I began improvising to the keyboard and guitar
rythyms to create the melody.
This song was then played
as a group for quite some time until it was finally
recorded for the cd. In the studio I had some fun
orchistrating the middle section, especially working
with Victor Bongat (the horn player). If you listen
closely, you will hear Vic yell "Ahhh My Notes,
My Notes..." during the section.
