Freedom
A lively instrumental
album coming right up to the brim on your coffee cup,
filled with stay awake medicine of the brightest kind.
Yes, even the lower
key tracks like 'Rain' come down in a Positive way.
As a matter of fact, the shower picks up after the 5
minute mark, and sprinkles you like you're a little
girl in your first thunderstorm.
There's something so
great and refreshing here.
I'm pleased to have this cd, which shall remain in my
personal collection.
There's a good combo backing John up as well. Often
they have a pronounced Latin limp that is spry and fanciful.
'Nachos' begins with
acoustic guitars in each ear and transports you emotionally
to that part of the world that's south of Epcot. A wonderful
experience, full of bongos, claves, jam blocks, and
Flamenco guitars that stop for no lights.
If you have a hankering
for great instrumental guitar stuff, please for John
Gilliat. You WON'T be disappointed, and you can only
help this guy, and your psyche, out.

Why
Rumba Flamenco...
I had been performing as a guitarist in various touring
pop/rock groups with no real musical direction or focus
for many years however, since discovering artists such
as Vicente Amigo, Paco DeLucia, Jesse Cook, The Gipsy
Kings, Strunz & Farah, and Ottmar Liebert. I found my
muse!
Around ten years ago I decided to create my own instrumental
project. I committed myself to creating instrumental guitar
music that could do for others as all the above artists
have done, and continue to do for me.
I wanted to create music that would make myself and others
around me feel great, uplift our spirits. Music that was
relaxing, interesting and very exciting to listen to and
perform!
I began accelerating my studies in Flamenco, Rumba, Jazz,
and all other musical elements needed to record, produce,
and perform in this fantastic new gendre.
Now due to the incredible success of this new music and
cd's, our touring has expanded to the other side of the
globe, performing has become such an amazing experience!
Not only is the new music incredibly exciting to play,
the effect it has on others has been overwhelming!
"The greatest moment of every performance is seeing
all the smiles from the audience and hearing all the wonderful
stories of how this new music has moved them in one form
or another." |
