The Need For Speed Tips...
Speed... The bottom line is hours and hours of practice.
Some people develop it faster than others.
I have taught some students that pick it up very quickly, however most of us
struggle with it.
I remember thinking I would never get it together. But keep at it.
Tips....
- "Allways practice at a slow even tempo and increase speed as your accuacy
improves"
- "Allways use a metronome"
- "Play scales as 1/8th's, 1/16th's, Triplets"
- learn to play scales with legado's ( hammer on's and pull off's ).
- Listen to Carlos Montoya for examples
- learn all your scales three notes per. string.
- check out my freedom clip and tab for an example ( on my web site )
- play scales with each note played twice, or three times as triplets.
- work out scale lines that use open strings (most keys have open strings available)
- Here is an example in A minor: (played on the high E string)
- -5-0-0-7-0-0-8-0-0-7-0-0 >> repeated.
Learn your A minor scale on the E string and continue the pattern up and down
the fret board...
